Hart of London Sculpture

We created a bespoke electronics solution to add an interactive element to St James' Church's recycled Stag sculpture, which encourages charitable donations. By partnering with Good Box charity contactless technology, we designed an innovative solution that brings the Stag to life with a glowing red heart after a contactless donation.

At Donation.Tech we can create customized solutions for charities that respond when a contactless donation is made, triggering external peripherals such as sounds, on-screen animations, or videos. In today's competitive charity market, technology innovation, such as this, is becoming increasingly important for charities to increase donations and stand out.

Project details

The charity sector is extremely competitive. The current uncertain economic climate makes charity subscriptions more challenging. Less people carry cash therefore spontaneous micro-donations are falling. Charities are turning to new technology innovations to increase donations and drive stand-out.

St James’ Church was looking for a solution that would add an interactive element to their recycled Stag sculpture that would encourage charitable donations. Contactless has transitioned to become a natural, every day, easy method of payment for most of the population. Therefore, our brief was to explore how we could maximise and adapt this technology to drive donations.

In order to encourage people to donate it’s essential to capture their attention and imagination, reassure them about the ease of use, security and provide a reward for their action.

In order to achieve this the team at Donation.Tech built a bespoke electronics solution that would evoke a positive response, partnered with Good Box charity contactless technology we were able to create an innovative design solution that brought the Stag to life with a glowing red heart after a contactless donation.

We are able to create bespoke solutions for the charity sector that respond when a contactless donation is made. For example, when a charity donation is made the Donation.Tech system can trigger external peripherals such as sounds, on screen animations or videos, if this is something we could support you with get in touch.
